OUR TOWN

Edenderry is situated in east Offaly on the borders of Kildare and Meath.

It is sixty kilometres from Dublin and is thriving market town with a population of almost 7, 000 (Census 11), an increase of 1,100 from the previous Census.


The town has become a "dormitory town" for the city of Dublin. Edenderry is the second largest town in County Offaly.

√Čadan Doire is the Irish for Edenderry and it means "Brow of the Oak Wood. This wood no longer exists but is found near Castropetre Church on the Church Walk.
