Scoil Muire Banríon (Edenderry BNS) is a Catholic primary school, under the patronage of the Catholic bishop of Kildare and Leighlin and with a Catholic ethos:

(b) He has a life to lead and a soul to be saved.
(c) All people are equal in the eyes of God – each is entitled to an equal chance of obtaining optimum personal fulfilment. |

Our school is an all boys primary school with 253 pupils currently on rolls and a staff of 16 teachers, 2 Special Needs Assistants and a School Secretary. It opened in 1959.
The current Principal is Seán Fitzgerald and the Deputy Principal is Muiris Ó Scannláin. The school has an Administrative Principal, ten mainstream class teachers and five Special Education Teachers.
Our school celebtated its 50th anniversary in 2009.
